We provide a range of shipping options to cater to your needs. Our preferred courier partner is The Courier Guy. Within Gauteng, we offer same-day shipping or overnight shipping, contingent upon the time of order placement.

For other regions in the country, we offer economy shipping as a standard option. We have found that Durban reliably gets next day deliveries and Cape Town often takes up to two days.

Note that with Courier Guy some areas are considered outlying areas and can result in a higher shipping rate to be settled or the package will need to be collected at your nearest Courier Guy depot.

Alternatively, you have the choice to personally pick up your order from our branch in Riversands, Midrand. You also have the flexibility to arrange your own delivery or collection through your preferred courier partner, or you can make use of alternative options such as Uber delivery for your convenience.

What finishes or additional services do you offer?

Our range of finishes is diverse and tailored to the chosen material. For metal surfaces, we provide options such as powder coating, available in virtually any color, or we can explore more artistic finishes like rust coating to impart a natural and aged appearance.

In the case of wood, our offerings include wood staining to accentuate the grain pattern, as well as the option for a solid color finish according to your preferences.

Feel free to CONTACT US for more options or information.

Do you offer rush or expedited services?

We take pride in our commitment to swift turnaround times and consistently strive to fulfill every job promptly without compromising our high-quality standards.

In cases where the urgency of a project is communicated in advance, we make every effort to accommodate such requests whenever feasible. For instances requiring an exceptionally rapid response, we do offer an expedited or rush service, which incurs additional charges based on the the type of job.

What is the ACCURACY and TOLERANCE of your laser cutting machines?

Our machines are fine tuned to deliver the most accurate as possible cuts and engravings. When it comes to interlocking parts such as finger holes or joints, we further refine the tolerance accuracy by adjust what is called a KERF offset, to ensure that there’s is little to no deviation in the required accuracy.

To learn more about tolerance compensation, see this article about KERF’s.

What is the typical turnaround time for laser cutting projects?

This varies from job to job, as the scale and the complexity makes all the difference. Other things that can factor into the overall turnaround time are things like design time, changes to artwork, job approval, etc.

With all of that being said, we pride ourselves on our turnaround time and can very often complete a job within the same day.

What is the Maximum thickness you can cut?

The max thickness is material dependent, here is a breakdown of some of the standard thicknesses that we can do:

  • MDF – 10mm
  • Ply Wood – 9mm
  • Acrylic – 12mm
  • Foam – 15mm
  • Rubber – 3mm
  • Stainless Steel – 6mm
  • Mild Steel – 12mm

CONTACT US for more info on materials and thicknesses, or if you need to go even thicker.

  • DXF
  • SVG
  • PDF
  • CDR
  • AI
  • DWG

What is Laser engraving ?

Laser engraving, is the practice of using lasers to engrave an object. Laser marking, on the other hand, is a broader category of methods to leave marks on an object, which also includes color change due to chemical/molecular alteration, charring, foaming, melting, ablation, and more. The technique does not involve the use of inks, nor does it involve tool bits which contact the engraving surface and wear out, giving it an advantage over alternative engraving or marking technologies where inks or bit heads have to be replaced regularly. The impact of laser marking has been more pronounced for specially designed “laserable” materials and also for some paints. These include laser-sensitive polymers and novel metal alloys. The term laser marking is also used as a generic term covering a broad spectrum of surfacing techniques including printing, hot-branding and laser bonding. The machines for laser engraving and laser marking are the same, so that the two terms are sometimes confused by those without knowledge or experience in the practice.

What is Laser cutting ?

Laser cutting is a technology that uses a laser to slice materials. While typically used for industrial manufacturing applications, it is also starting to be used by schools, small businesses, and hobbyists. Laser cutting works by directing the output of a high-power laser most commonly through optics. The laser opticsand CNC (computer numerical control) are used to direct the material or the laser beam generated. A commercial laser for cutting materials uses a motion control system to follow a CNC or G-code of the pattern to be cut onto the material. The focused laser beam is directed at the material, which then either melts, burns, vaporizes away, or is blown away by a jet of gas, leaving an edge with a high-quality surface finish.
